American Horror Story Freak Show: How Would You Rate It? Take Our Poll, We Wanna Know!

Well, now that the dust has settled after the season finale of American Horror Story Freak Show, hopefully you can look back and put it into perspective with the rest of the series: Murder House, Asylum, and Coven. You can tell us how you rank it in with all the other seasons, plus we’ve put it some other possibilities (that we’ve heard more than one person say). We would ask you to mainly base your rating on pure entertainment value, but also take into account whether you’d want to re-watch, and… oh hell, just base it on whatever you want. It’s your choice.

We have grimly resigned ourselves to the fact that nothing will ever top Asylum, but we’re still willing to watch. Also, Asylum would be really, really hard to top anyway.

If the many answers start to confuse you (seriously, we started to get confused writing them) just write your own answer (such as: “I liked Asylum best, then Freak Show, then Murder House, then Coven least” or “Freak Show is a tie with Murder House, which I thought was better than Coven but not as amazing as Asylum”); whatever you want.

Before you decide that Freak Show really wasn't any improvement over Coven, watch the Coven Finale again.

We rank Murder House over Freak Show because Murder House, especially this episode, gave us nightmares and Freak Show did not.

Amazing, Disturbing Concept Art From American Horror Story Asylum, Created By Designer Jerad S. Marantz, Won’t Help You Sleep Tonight (Dread Central)

OK, this right here is some scary shit from concept designer Jerad S. Marantz, showing off some of his concept art from the show created by him and by makeup FX artist Christian Tinsley,  who hold all the copyrights to the two images I used to feature this piece. Horror Boom had nothing to do with that, just finding them and sharing them here to scare the holy hell out of you (along with us)!

Looks like they stuck pretty close to the design for our favorite microcephalic, Pepper, and equally close (though with a different color palette) to Bloody Face. I finally figured out what separate’s Bloody Face’s look from the rest of the “cut off your face and fashion it into a mask to wear to kill my next victim” serial killers are the (bloody) teeth crudely sewed into the lips… or what would  be the lips…

Like we say above, if you’re already having trouble sleeping, maybe hold off on clicking the below link and perusing the detailed concept art/designs till daylight. You’ve officially been cautioned…

Crazy Concept Art From American Horror Story: Asylum Sends Chills | Horror Movie, DVD, & Book Reviews, News, Interviews at Dread Central.

All the Rasper concept art is fucking horrifying.  I don’t know how or why they look more disturbing than the ones we saw on the show, but they do. There may be–probably is, in fact– more on the artist’s blog, I simply decided to not start roaming around on it until the sun is out.By the way, once you get to the gallery, note you can click on an image to isolate it, then expand it. I assume these took a lot of hard (or at least labor-intensive) work to create, the attention to detail is incredible.

The mid-transformation Shelley is what made the temperature in this room seem to plummet down to freezing for at least a minute, though.  You’ll know it when you see it.

The Dread Central piece within also  mentions that these images are from the artist’s (Jerad S. Marantz) own blog. Who knows, if you do a little digging, maybe you’ll find a way to buy or obtain that lovely concept art of Pepper above!  If we can find more art, up it’ll go… there ay be a slight delay depending on how dark the house is at the time, though.

American Horror Story Asylum Fans, Sound Off! Poll: With Only The Finale Left, Who Will You Miss Most?

Though characters have been dropping dead (or killing each other/themselves) since New Year’s, who will you miss the most after the story has ended? Note: not all characters here are heroes and heroines, some are just so evil they could be entertaining. A couple, let’s face it, needed to die. Also, some got killed off before this poll was created. We’d really like to know who you’re going to miss.

I miss her already!

I miss HER already! How about you?

We know it’s hard to trim it down to one character, so vote for up to three. Due to the fact we didn’t have room for more than ten, we couldn’t put separate categories for, say, Sister Jude and Judy Martin, or Sister Mary Eunice and demon-possessed Sister Mary Eunice. We’re pretty sure we covered it all, but there’s room for you to write-in your vote if we missed someone.   If we get a lot of response to this, we have several more fun polls (Scariest Scene? Most Shocking Moment? Nastiest Death? Character most likely to appear in your nightmares? Sexiest Scene?) that were really fun to jot down. Hey, we’re more than happy to have the First Only Annual American Horror Story Asylum Viewer’s Choice Awards and post the winners.  Shit, I’ll post polls myself every day, no shortage there!

Either way, start with our poll here and tell us who you’ll miss seeing every week on American Horror Story Asylum!

Oh, and it’s anonymous. If there’s more than a couple write-in votes, we’ll put a second one up for recurring (recurring=shows up in two or more episodes) characters (Shelley, Bloody Face Jr., Leigh “Psycho Santa” Emerson, Percy the compulsive masturbator guy,  Frank, etc.). Vote away, please!
