Who Will Die On ‘The Walking Dead’ Midseason Finale? EW.com Has Some Good Guesses…

Oookay. We’re really hoping it’s not Beth. For one thing, Maggie seems to have completely gotten over her already which we have been pissed about since, oh, the mid-season premiere of S4. She also won us over singing “I Don’t Wanna Grow Up” back in the prison to baby Judith. Before the episode she sang it in was even over, though (and it was towards the end), we were strongly concerned it was foreshadowing. We don’t want to see Carol go for the same reasons everyone else does, and we really don’t want to see another black character killed off. They threw some not-too-subtle hints about Father Gabriel our way during last week’s episode (titled “Crossed”), and since he only showed up recently it’s possible. But come on, they already killed off a black character, and we were getting really attached to Bob. We hope Noah sticks around (because he actually went out of his way to be genuinely kind to Beth in a building full of varying degrees of selfish assholes). They better not even think about killing off Tyreese; his character has a way to go and he’s very easy on the eyes. Would they really heap Abraham losing Rosita on top of having his (remaining) hopes and dreams ripped out of him and burned to the ground (The Walking Dead: Where Hopes Goes To Be Sodomized), at least this soon? Probably.

zombie_foodpyramid_notmyartwork_HB.jpg

Ok, let’s face it… we don’t want to see anyone die yet in the list EW.com gives, really. The only ones we did predict before the actual episode started were tied in with the comics — either the character died in the comics and there was no way they could keep them alive because they’d done too much horrible shit or were a threat (The Governor) or we saw one character clearly replacing another in a specific comic story arc (Herschel, Bob).

walkingdeadmichonneCHOP.jpg
COMICS SPOILER AHEAD: If Carol does go, at least she will have lived longer, done way more good, and died a less hideous, blood-curdling death than she did in the comics.
As far as how someone could die, there has been a ton of speculation online (most of it sensible and backed up by good points) about zombies coming back as a threat in a big way. Only one character (who was a regular, anyway) was killed by a zombie –Bob apparently got bitten or badly scratched in that fucking horrible watery pit in the food bank by one of the zombies that were rotting like a “Ghastly” Graham Engels sketch in an E.C. comic, only way messier. He did more or less get a chance to go out on his own terms, though …less one leg, that is.
Click “View original” in the lower left to read the entire article by Dalton Ross on EW.com, and definitely be sure to take the poll and see how the voting has gone so far (people are pretty sure they know who it is). The only character not to have a single vote from anyone thinking she was in danger of being on the kill list? Our girl Michonne.

Meet Ben Woolf, the Actor Who Plays “Meep” On American Horror Story Freak Show

Or is that “played”? Probably the latter. Check out this great interview from FX Networks, who also have several other featurettes on the ‘Extra-Ordinary Actors’ from this season.

We thought his name looked familiar, went looking, and yes, he played the heart-stoppingly frightening “Infantata” on American Horror Story Murder House (Season One). Maybe this will jog your memory:

Screen shot 2014-11-15 at 8.33.27 AM

He was pretty harmless (except to the chicken population) on Freak Show, and in fact, a sympathetic character. Not so much in Season One, where his character would turn you hair white with fear and traumatize you for life… but don’t worry, he/she/it would very likely just rip out your throat and kill you, so no worries about post-traumatic stress! Just try to make it out the door first… because when you die in the Murder House, you don’t get to leave.

GROOVY NEWS! ‘Evil Dead’ TV show Starring Bruce Campbell Officially Greenlit by Starz

It’s official! Also, they can get away with pretty much anything on Starz. Watch this space for more as it comes in!

American Horror Story Freak Show – We Have Upcoming Episode Titles and Descriptions (AKA SPOILERS) Here!

We’re going to do this like we did our last feature (click here to read it) that relayed the new editions to the IMDB episode guide for Freak Show. We’ll give you episode titles first (there are more titles than descriptions) as they sound cool but do not contain spoilers, then the descriptions. Sounds like some nasty stuff is coming down the line for Del and Désirée; we just hope they don’t get killed off because we love watching Michel Chiklis and Angela Bassett in the roles so much!

First, some fun, NON-SPOILER titles for you:

“Pink Cupcakes” airs November 5th.

“Bullseye” airs November 12th.

“Test of Strength” airs November 19th.

“Blood Bath” (YES! Bring it!) airs November 26th, just in time for Thanksgiving!

“The Fat Lady Sings” (uh-oh) airs December 10th.

Then we’ll have the usual holiday break, and the final three episodes will air in January 2015. Hey, slow down…

Screen shot 2014-11-04 at 7.54.34 AM

NOW COME THE SPOILERS!

We don’t find out who lives or dies or anything REALLY extreme like that, but it is easy to fit most of the puzzle pieces together (especially when combined with Ryan Murphy’s interviews where he always manages to slip in a few spoilers– accidentally– into his “teasers”.  Maybe he has a couple of glasses of wine before the post-mortem interviews with EW.com; he sounds pretty relaxed and casual. Or maybe he’s just so excited about the great stuff to come that he can’t help himself; in fact, we don’t blame him. If you missed the post-mortems for Edward Mordrake Part One and Edward Mordrake Part Two, check them out here; there’s some juicy stuff.

OK, strap in and keep your arms and legs inside the ride-car at all times.

Pink Cupcakes:

Stanley and Maggie hatch a plan to murder the Freaks. Gloria hides the evidence of Dandy’s gruesome new hobby. A health scare reveals Désirée may not be the oddity she once thought.

Bullseye:

Elsa reveals a dangerous new act. Stanley exerts pressure on Maggie to murder Jimmy. Paul indulges in a secret romance.

Test of Strength:

The women of the Freak Show rally against Dell after his latest act of violence. A strange encounter with Dandy raises Jimmy’s suspicion about the clown murders.

Screen shot 2014-11-04 at 7.48.44 AM

So here’s some speculation: from the previews for this week’s episode, we saw either Maggie or “Tripod” Stanley not-so-subtly injecting some kind of fluid into a pink cupcake with a huge syringe. We’re guessing some 50s version of roofies. Later in the preview we see them preparing a HUGE tray/steel container with some kind of liquid… over here we’re thinking formaldehyde. We also see Bette and Dot (well, one of them, anyway) biting into said cupcake. Of course, Murphy is not going to kill off Sarah Paulson’s character/s less than halfway through the season any more than she’s going to kill off Jessica Lange.

Stanley and Maggie hatch a plan to murder the Freaks. However, during the “this season on American Horror Story Freak Show” preview that came after the premiere, we beheld something terrible: a shot of Ma Petite inside a large glass specimen jar that her hands could not reach the top of to pull herself out. Then it got worse as they briefly showed the jar being filled with some kind of fluid chemical while air bubbles come out of the poor girl’s mouth. We really hope this is either a dream/nightmare sequence or someone saves her and then kills that rotten prick Stanley.

Screen shot 2014-11-04 at 7.50.37 AM

A health scare reveals Désirée may not be the oddity she once thought. We are not sure how that’s going to work. It’s a health scare: could she be throwing up in the mornings and feeling faint, then turn out to be pregnant? Is her penis going to fall off, or shrink severely? Does she not have a vagina? Is that third breast going to have to come off? Her being pregnant would make her seem like less of a hermaphrodite, but that is still an oddity. The wording also suggests her “oddities” are not some kind of scam being pulled by her and Del, not that she has some make-up effects expert to put a third prosthetic breast on every morning.

Elsa reveals a dangerous new act. From the episode title being Bullseye, we are thinking of a knife-throwing act, possibly with Del being the thrower. It’ll spin around with someone Elsa doesn’t like strapped to the target. How could THIS possibly go wrong?

Stanley exerts pressure on Maggie to murder Jimmy.  So Jimmy is, fortunately, still alive at this point. Also, If he’s having to pressure Maggie, it’s because she’s not as shitty of a person as Stanley is; she has feelings for Jimmy and by this point will probably be getting along with the freaks. We doubt she will follow through, but maybe they murder someone else as a consolation prize and this is where the scene with Ma Petite mentioned earlier comes in.

Screen shot 2014-11-04 at 7.51.22 AM

Paul indulges in a secret romance. Maybe we’ll get hints in the previous episodes, but we have no idea what current character could be involved. The contortionist? He was in that porno home movie, but since FX only lets AHS get away with so much, we couldn’t tell if he was with a man or a woman. I seem to remember someone’s head in his lap, but I could very well be wrong. Is he gay or bisexual?  Because that doubles the amount of characters it could be. Matt Bomer’s character, we think, is gone by then; it could be another guest star.

Screen shot 2014-11-04 at 7.48.54 AM

The women of the Freak Show rally against Dell after his latest act of violence. His LATEST one? He does seem to be a mean drunk. Also, though they gave him a little humanity (not much, but a tiny hint of it) in Edward Mordrake Part One, it doesn’t sound like he’s going to be a nice guy, deep down. Not to mention, he sold tickets for an audience to watch a young Esther give birth to Jimmy, which is pretty horrible. She was outdoors and didn’t even get to lie down, and there weren’t exactly any OB-GYNs around to help her stay comfortable and safe. This will be ugly, but unfortunately for him, he’s out-numbered.

A strange encounter with Dandy raises Jimmy’s suspicion about the clown murders. You’d think Jimmy would already have seen some big red flags by now and figured it out, but I guess he’s too busy with his complicated romance with Maggie and the Twins.

Once again, here is the link to the latest post-mortem and our list of ten highlights from it.Screen shot 2014-11-04 at 7.51.57 AM Meanwhile, feel free to add your own speculations!

American Horror Story Freak Show – Ten Things We Learned From Post-Halloween Interview With Ryan Murphy (Source: EW.com)

We’ll put a link to the original post-Halloween episodes post-mortem, because there is much more than can fit here. Ryan Murphy spilled some secrets, as well as teases, for the upcoming episodes to Tim Stack at EW.com. There are juicy enough to make an ordered list from instead of reblogging the interview, which you can read here on EW.com. A couple are surprises, so proceed with caution. We put #10 on the “Spoiler -A-Rama” page because, well, it’s a spoiler that RM probably should not have spilled. But for now…

SPOILER ALERT: DO NOT READ IF YOU DID NOT SEE LAST WEEK’S AHS FREAKSHOW! BIG SPOILER ALERt!

1. There will be a “Love Quadrangle” involving Jimmy Darling, The Tattler Twins, ad Maggie (Emma Roberts). The twins LOVE Jimmy, but he loves Maggie. Meanwhile, you’ll never guess–and have to read the full interview– for the name of the fourth person, who is in love with the twins.

2. Elsa may have a minor love interest/sex buddy here and there, but according to RM, “this season, her main love interest is her career.”

AHSFS 2014-11-02 at 7.26.11 AM

3. Matt Bomer appears in episode 5, “Pink Cupcakes”… the next episode. We saw a photo of his character, who has a serious rockabilly look.

4. RM says that the scene with Matt Bomer is the “most disturbing thing on American Horror Show” they’ve ever done Yes, RM is aware he says this every season, sometimes more than once. He says it is disturbing because “it’s so real and based on fact” and also calls it a “gothic, weird sequence”. Your guess is as good as ours…

AHSFSot 2014-11-02 at 7.20.54 AM

5. That close-up of a coffee cup with a top hat on it (that is, painted on it, the cup isn’t wearing the top hot) is, according to RM, a hint towards next season. He also admits some of the fan speculation about this clue is “completely right on”. We’re calling it… Monopoly!

6. In this week’s episode, we also find out who made Else’s pretty (prosthetic) legs for her.

7. Gloria is going to find out about Dandy’s murderous path. In the upcoming episode, we see her struggling with being the parent of a sociopath. She will try to save him, but also do right by the law (yeah, good luck with that). RM says that next episode, she will DISCUSS inbreeding’s place in wealthy society. Let’s hope it sticks to discussion only.

AHShot 2014-11-02 at 7.30.41 AM

8. Now here is when it gets confusing, but very interesting. RM says all the seasons are connected. Season 4 is now connected to the same fictional world as Asylum with the return of Lily Rabe as Sister Eunice.

9. AND, we will find out how Season three interconnects with Season One.  Wait, WHAT? We really hope RM pulls this off.

10. You’ll have to click here to go to the page that exclusively lists spoilers to find out what secret  #10 is! Here’s a hint…

Lily Rabe Will Appear on ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show,’ Reprising ‘Asylum’ Role!

This is AWESOME news. We can’t wait to see what happens. Pepper, if you’ll recall, was framed… who really drowned that baby and cut off its ears?

Ten Highlights of American Horror Story Freak Show Episode 2 Post-Mortem With Ryan Murphy – SPOILERS

Screen shot 2014-10-23 at 8.05.37 AM“Monsters and Matinees” (great title) would not fit in the title bar for this piece, but EW.com did a great post-mortem with Murphy, which you can read about here. Rather than re-blog, we thought we’d give you ten highlights of the Tim Stack interview on EW.com (and there’s more still in the actual EW.com piece, which we highly recommend).

Murphy (who we will refer to in the remainder of this article, as “RM” for brevity’s sake) goes over some of the happenings in Episode 4.2, teases about future episode (to the point that he lets a few items that might be considered SPOILERS slip, so read with caution), and (accidentally, we hope) kind of insults the audience. We’ll try not to take it too personally. Remember, beware if you have not watched “Monsters and Matinees” yet!

1. RM is not surprised that a bunch of clown advocate groups/clown organizations are offended and complaining about portraying a clown in a negative light. He says as soon as he saw “Twisty” in full makeup and costume, people were going to upset either because of the above, or because he’s too scary. “I think we’ve tapped into a phobia that is pretty powerful.”

2.  He IS surprised, however, at Dandy being popular with many fans (so are we). To that, he graciously credits Finn Whitrock’s likeability, Screen shot 2014-10-13 at 8.32.17 AM 3.  RM says that there is a family secret between Dandy and Gloria Mott, and we’ll learn more in the next few episodes. It helps explains their very weird family dynamic (and no, Gloria does not have any kind of narcotics in her system causing her to be so loopy and delusional).

4.  This is an interesting one: RM says that if Jimmy hadn’t been so mean to Dandy (oh, boo-hoo, poor baby) when he first went to the Freak Show and asked to be part of it, Dandy might not have turned murderous (apparently all the neighborhood cats and dogs he tortured and killed don’t count, even though that is textbook Serial Killer Child Development 101). Here’s the quote from the piece straight from RM: I sort of think that if the freak show would have accepted him and he would have had an outlet I don’t think he would become what he’s going to become. So I think that Evan’s character is partially responsible for what’s going to happen in a weird way.

5. Also, if we hadn’t figured it out yet, Twisty the Clown is “like a rock star” to Dandy; Dandy thinks he’s a rebel and he sees Twisty as a fellow rebel. Screen shot 2014-10-23 at 8.08.01 AM 6. Dell knows Jimmy Darling is his son, but Jimmy doesn’t know Dell is his father (probably for the best right now, in our opinion).  RM was worried that Michael Chiklis wouldn’t be interested in the part of Dell, since Chiklis played a tough guy for so long when he starred as Vic Mackey on The Shield. However, he was interested in the role because Del has a vulnerable side. RM says that they “will write and explore” that Del seems to like masculine women; Ethel has a beard and Désirée has a penis (along with her female equipment).

7. Elsa’s jealousy due to Bette and Dot being the headliners (so to speak) of the show now is definitely going to carry through the future episodes. RM: “When [Elsa] sees the number and sees that they actually have talent, I think she’s wildly intimidated because she wants to be the number one bitch on the lot”.  The dynamic of the three (counting Bette and Dot as two) will have them “fighting for the spotlight” later on. Screen shot 2014-10-23 at 8.05.14 AM 8. In “Edward Mondrake Part Two”, the second half of the Halloween episode to be aired next week, we will see Twisty’s entire ‘origin story’, and 15 minutes of the show–an entire act– will focus only on him. The act will take us back 40 years into Twisty’s past. Our prediction: all he wanted was to be a clown and entertain kids, but at some point he tried to commit suicide with a shotgun and botched the job, blowing off his lower jaw instead. He couldn’t entertain small children any more because he looked so horrifying, so he went insane.  He did see him give the little boy a wind-up toy robot (though he got pissed when the kid wasn’t happy about it and shoved a severed head at him instead).

9. Denis O’Hare’s character has a 13-inch penis.

Screen shot 2014-10-23 at 8.08.16 AM
10. So far, according to RM, no one has guessed the theme of Season Five of American Horror Story. Many people are positive Season 5 will take place in space, but (thank God) RM says absolutely not; then the show would turn into ‘Intergalactic Horror Story’ instead of “American Horror Story”. American Horror Story Freak Show Premiere: Five Ways To Kill the Hours Until Airtime!

So, we’re down to less than three hours here on the West Coast waiting for the American Horror Story Freak Show 90-minute premiere! Has time slowed to a crawl for you too? Here’s some last-minute ways to kill time that have been working for us.

1.  Watch this “Inside the Freak Show” featurette that features exclusive interviews with the cast and previously unseen footage (Sorry, we couldn’t find one to embed that didn’t have subtitles, but we doubt you’ll mind):

2.  Click here to read this MTV.com piece titled “American Horror Story Freak Show: Seven Spoiler-Free Secrets” of the premiere and next week’s episode. It has a shockingly dirty detail about Jimmy Darling (Evan Peters) and a certain sexual skill…

Screen shot 2014-10-08 at 6.44.56 AM

3. Watch these three featurettes about these actors who were cast as performers for their actual attributes, including Matt Fraser as “The Illustrated Seal,” Jyoti Kisange Amge as “Ma Petite”, and Rose Siggins, the actress behind “Legless Suzi.”. They contain interviews with the actors and also show footage not seen before.

4. Go the official FX website for the show, weareallfreaksahs.com and see a huge gallery of publicity art (some of it very disturbing) as well as pages for each characters. For instance, this is the full version of the “featured image” used for this piece…

Screen shot 2014-10-08 at 5.52.50 AM

5. Naomi Grossman made an appearance in character–and in full-make-up–as “Pepper” at the “Son of Monsterpalooza” convention last year. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the make-up process that transforms this pretty young women into our favorite, very convincing Pinhead:

…and you’ve killed some time leading up to tonight’s premiere while getting even more hyped up for it! Enjoy “Monsters Among Us”!

Screen shot 2014-10-08 at 5.39.10 AM

If you would like to read something a little more spoiler-ish, click here for our article with episode descriptions for the first four shows. There are also episode titles for the first half of the season and DAMN they sound good!

American Horror Story Freak Show – Plot Synopsis and Episode Titles For You Here! (SPOILERS)

So, here’s an early Halloween treat for you to whet you appetite further for the fourth season of American Horror Story. You may have heard a rumor that this season is about a Freak Show of some kind…

If you’re worried about spoilers, we’ll put the episode titles for the entire first half of the season of American Horror Story Freak Show; those don’t give much away… and they’re kinda fun. Then you can skip the second part of this piece if you don’t want episode descriptions for the first four episodes (including the notorious Halloween two-parter).

Here are those episode titles for you. Unfortunately we are getting mixed information about the writers and directors for each one, but we’ll tell you when they’ve made up their minds.

Screen shot 2014-10-02 at 7.58.10 AM

Episode 4.1 is titled “Monsters Among Us” and airs Wed. Oct. 08, 10:00 PM on FX – and it’s 90 minutes long! Sons of Anarchy shouldn’t get to hog all the ‘super-sized’ FX episodes!

Episode 4.2 is titled “Massacres and Matinees” (wheee!) and airs October 15th, same Freak-Time, same Freak-Channel.
Episode 4.3 is titled “Edward Mordrake: Part 1″ and airs October 22nd. This is the first of the two Halloween episodes that have been an American Horror Story tradition since season one and are usually when the season REALLY kicks into high horror gear. Trivia: Starting with S1, Ryan Murphy wanted the two-parter to air on two consecutive nights, but FX wouldn’t let him.
Episode 4.4 is titled “Edward Mordrake: Part 2” and airs Oct. 29th.
Episode 4.5 is titled, “Pink Cupcakes” (we highly doubt the cupcakes are as wholesome as they sound, knowing this show) and airs November 5th.
Episode 4.6 is titled “Bullseye” (also not a good sign) and airs November 12th.
Episode 4.7 is titled “Tests of Strength” and airs November 19th. Hopefully that means they won’t have killed off Michael Chiklis (or rather, his Strongman character Del) early on.
Also following tradition, and we kind of like this one because it helps our post-holiday depression, there will be a break (usually three weeks) over the Christmas season and the final three episodes will air in January of the next year. Hopefully, that will be the only time we have to wait more than a week for the next episode.

Warning:  Section CONTAINING SPOILERS For American Horror Story Freak Show begins here! DO NOT READ IF YOU WANT TO REMAIN SPOILER-FREE!

Screen shot 2014-10-04 at 7.21.29 AM

OK, now here are the episode descriptions for the first four episodes that they usually don’t like you to see early. The IMDB has them, though (they are our source for this information).

Monsters Among Us

When police make a terrifying discovery at a local farmhouse, the eccentric purveyor of the freak show sees an opportunity that will lead her troupe either to their salvation or ruin.
Our speculation: The long trailer shows Bette and Dot (Sarah Paulson and Sarah Paulson) getting slapped around by some awful bitch, we assume their mother, and a new trailer shows a milk man wandering around inside a house like he’s about to make a horrible discovery. We are guessing she snaps and kills her mother, but Else Mars somehow intervenes before the cops show up, and ‘rescues’ the twins (to whisk away to join the Freak Show).
A citywide curfew threatens to shut down the Freak Show. A strongman from Ethel’s troubled past arrives at camp. Gloria arranges a terrifying play date for Dandy. The Tattler Twins reveal a talent that could knock Elsa from the spotlight.
Speculation: our guess is the curfew being caused by the killing spree of “Twisty the Clown” scaring the shit out of everybody. Obviously, Vic Mackey  Del, played by Chiklis, is the strongman who was married to Ethel and is now married to Angela Bassett’s three-breasted character, Désirée (how do you compete with that?). We have no idea about the terrifying play date, we do know Dandy is Frances Conroy’s handsome son who is fascinated by freaks. And we think the Tattler Twins just having two heads that talk to each other is enough to trump a Bearded Lady, but maybe they sing a duet while they play the piano or something.
The Freaks refuse to perform on Halloween due to an old carny superstition. Jimmy is smitten by a woman claiming to be a fortune-teller. Ethel receives life-changing news.
Ryan Murphy has said that the “old carny superstition” is Edward Mordrake (Wes Bentley), the man with a face in the back of his head that tells him to do horrible, evil things. That takes care of the first Halloween episode, followed a week later by…
Edward Mordrake continues his search for a Freak to add to his ghostly coterie. Elsa tells the grisly story of her days in Germany. Jimmy and Maggie have a run-in with the Twisted Clown.
We had heard there would be flashbacks to Elsa being a singer in a cabaret in Germany, not sure how that gets grisly but it does (Nazis?). Maggie is played by Emma Roberts; are she and Evan Peters going to play a couple again? Your guess is as good as ours (but we think they’ll hook up).
Screen shot 2014-10-02 at 7.49.05 AM
We’ll have more news soon; apparently they’re even airing a few featurettes before the premiere, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for those!
