KNB EFX – still the best, and out favorite, in practical gore effects (going back to Nicotero’s work in Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn…actually, before that). What’s “gore galore” to most might be a medium amount of gore for us (and we’re also far from ‘squeamish’), but we agree 100% with the “raw, visceral” part. Plus, the eyeballs were a great touch. Check out the cool concept art!

Interesting read. Thanks. I just watched the first ep last night. So far not impressed. Hopefully it picks up in the next ep. Famke’s acting is terrible.
Can’t argue with that, it starts off slow. I love Famke but 1. her accent keeps slipping and 2. she just doesn’t look like she’s having any fun playing the role. Who knows, maybe it was the direction. Yeah, it starts off slow, but it picks up, and I have to admit the pace of the last few episodes is pretty intense, with reveal after reveal (even though you see a couple coming). It’s definitely uneven as a whole–the pacing is all over the place sometimes– but I don’t regret sitting through it.
Thanks, good to hear that it picks up. Gives me more motivation not to give up on it so quickly 😉
