Who would’ve guessed that adding a single instrument to the Hannibal soundtrack could make the NBC drama about 300 percent more creepy?
The dark stag that haunted Will’s subconscious throughout Season 1 was accompanied by a bullroarer, an ancient instrument that “creates this very disturbing, guttural, primal sound,” series creator Bryan Fuller explains in this exclusive, behind-the-scenes Blu-ray clip.
In other words, bullroarer = the reason you have to keep the lights on when you go to bed on Hannibal nights.
